OVERVIEW
This document supports the ADTRAN Total Access Fiber Node Cabinet (P/N 4192MS3KQL1). The Fiber
Node Cabinet (FNC) is an individual system designed to provide cost-effective and remotely managed
HDSL, HDSL2, HDSL4, and T1 transport from a fiber-fed backbone for the delivery of high capacity
services. The cabinet supports 710 style splice modules.
The FNC provides up to 84 HDSL, HDSL2, HDSL4, or T1 circuits. FNCs are for above ground use and
are intended for deployment in areas that serve medium to large concentrations of business customers.
FNCs are designed and engineered to reduce HDSLx/T1 deployment time, simplify installation, and elimi-
nate most manhole repeater requirements.
The major components and support elements comprising the FNC include the following:
• Marconi MESA Sport NT on Riser Enclosure
• ADC Fiber Splice Shelf
• Three Total Access 3000 Shelves: A, B, and C
• Valere Power System Chassis and Controller Module
• PECO II 10 × 10 Fuse and Alarm (F&A) Panel
• Two VRLA Battery Strings (150 Ahr each)
• Alarm Cross-Connect Shelf
• Lightning Protect Block (200-pr)
• Equipment Side Cross-Connect Blocks (200-pr)
• Field Side Cross-Connect Blocks (200-pr)
• AC Power Load Center
• 120 VAC GFI Convenience Outlets (2)
• Intrusion Alert Switches (3)
• Environmental Control Unit (ECU)
Individual documentation is included for major components as listed in
common module and access module for the Total Access 3000 includes a job aid or practice.
