    The TD-325, TD-425 Targa 2000 Configuration Guide for Value-Added Resellers is organized as follows: Chapter 1, “Getting Started,” describes how to get ready to configure the TD-325 or TD- 425 deskside system to use a Targa 2000 board. Chapter 2, “Targa 2000 RTX/DTX in a TD-325 Deskside System,” describes how to configure the TD-325 deskside system to use a Targa 2000 RTX/DTX board.

    2 Installing a Targa 2000 RTX/DTX in a TD-325 Follow the instructions in this chapter to install and configure a Targa 2000 RTX/DTX board in an Intergraph TD-325 deskside system. CAUTION Follow these instructions in the order in which they are presented.

    The Targa 2000 RTX/DTX drivers must be installed for the Targa 2000 RTX/DTX board to work correctly in the TD-325. You may install the drivers from diskettes delivered with the Targa 2000 RTX/DTX board, or from the Truevision World Wide Web site.

    3 Installing a Targa 2000 RTX/DTX in a TD-425 Follow the instructions in this chapter to install and configure a Targa 2000 RTX/DTX board in an Intergraph TD-425 deskside system. CAUTION Follow these instructions in the order in which they are presented.

    Disable On-Board Audio and Free IRQ Settings To avoid any audio and Interrupt Request (IRQ) conflicts after installing the Targa 2000 RTX/DTX board and drivers, you must disable the on-board audio and certain IRQ settings. To disable on-board audio and to free IRQ settings: 1.

    Install the Truevision Targa 2000 RTX/DTX board in PCI expansion slot 2 (the second PCI slot). See the online System Reference delivered with the TD-425 for information on installing option boards in the system. Intergraph recommends that the Targa 2000 RTX/DTX board have an installed card extender.

    4. Connect external SCSI devices, if present, to the SCSI controllers. 5. Turn on power to the system, allow the system to restart, and log on to Windows NT 4.0 using an account with Administrator privileges. 6. Ensure that the SCSI configuration is properly terminated by using the correct SCSI terminator.

    Windows NT normally updates and displays the contents of a window while you drag it. To save system resources and improve performance, Intergraph recommends disabling full window dragging. The contents of the window are updated and displayed once you finish dragging the window to its destination.

    8. Click OK to close the Performance dialog. 9. Click OK to close the System dialog. 10. Click Yes when prompted to restart the system. You must restart the system for your changes to take effect. 11. Allow the system to restart, and then log on to Windows NT using an account with Administrator privileges.

    13. From the Partition menu, select Exit. After creating the stripe set, you should save the disk configuration information for future use (for example, if you have to reinstall the operating system). Refer to Disk Administrator Help for instructions on saving and restoring the disk configuration information. Install and Configure Video Editing Software Once you create a stripe set, the TD-425 is prepared for the installation of video editing software, such as D-Vision Online 3.0 or MCXpress.
