C o n n e c t i n g t o t h e P C
A PCI cable is included with the Installation kit. At one end of the rainbow ribbon cable is a 10-pin,
female connector that hooks into the PCI port on the ZNDC. The other end is a female DB9 con-
nector that connects to one of the COM ports on the back of the PC.
Most PCs will have two COM ports on the back, marked 1 and 2. Some PCs have more, but the
ZNDC has been configured to use only COM 1 or 2.
If you have to use an extension cable between the PCI cable and the PC, use a straight-through,
male to female DB9 connector. Do not use a Null Modem cable.
