Initial lighting and gas flame adjustments
Surface burners use electronic igniters in place of standing pilots.
When the cooktop control knob is turned to the "LITE" position,
the system creates a spark to light the burner. This sparking
continues, as long as the control knob is turned to "LITE."
The grill and griddle burner use an igniter glow bar that is either
on or off in place of standing pilots. When the glow bar is hot, it
sends a signal back to the safety valve, which opens allowing gas
to flow to the grill and griddle burner.
Check Operation of Surface Burners, Grill and Griddle
1. Turn on power supply. "PF" should appear on the clock
display. For further information, please refer to the user
instructions located in the Use and Care Guide.
2. Push in and turn the surface burners and grill control knobs
to the LITE position. For griddles, turn the griddle control
knob to a temperature degree mark (300° recommended).
The surface burner flame should light within 4 seconds.
Because of air in the gas line, a surface burner may take
longer than 4 seconds to light the first time it is lit.
3. Check the flame on HI for a blue color. It should be clean and
soft in character. No yellow tip, blowing or lifting of flame
should occur. Occasional orange flashes are normal and
reflect different elements in the air or gas.
The grill and griddle flame should light in 30 to 40 seconds.
The griddle flame cannot be seen, but you should hear it
ignite and feel heat from the griddle.
4. After verifying the proper burner operation, turn the control
knobs to OFF.
If burners do not light properly:
Turn surface burner control knob to the "OFF" position.
Check that electrical supply is connected.
Check that the circuit breaker has not tripped or the
household fuse has not blown.
Check that the gas shutoff valves are set to the "open"
position.
Check that burner caps are properly positioned on burner
bases.
Recheck operation of surface burners, grill and griddle. If a
burner does not light, turn off range, turn gas shutoff valve to
"closed," and contact your dealer or authorized service company
for assistance.

Adjust Flame Height
Adjust the height of surface burner or grill flames.
NOTE: There is no adjustment for the griddle flame. Gas flow is
at 100%, temperature is controlled by a thermostat.
The surface burner or grill "low" flame should be a steady blue
flame approximately ¼" (0.64 cm) high.
If the "low" flame needs to be adjusted:
The flame can be adjusted using the adjustment screw in the
center of the valve stem. The valve stem is located directly
underneath the control knob.
1. Remove the control knob.
2. Hold the knob stem with a pair of pliers. Use a small flat-
blade screwdriver to turn the screw located in the center of
the control knob stem until the flame is the proper size.
3. Replace the control knob.
4. Test the flame by turning the control from LO to HI, checking
the flame at each setting.
Check Operation of Oven Element
1. Turn oven selector to BAKE. Default temperature appears in
the temperature display.
2. Press ENTER. The first preheat light comes on when the oven
temperature begins to rise.
3. When the second preheat light comes on, open oven door
and hold hand above oven floor and feel for heat. Do not
touch oven floor. Press CANCEL and turn oven selector to
RESET.
