Trim rod (tilt pin)

The position of the trim rod determines the
minimum trim angle of the outboard motor in
relation to the transom.

Shallow water lever

Pushing this lever down will tilt the motor up
partially to provide more clearance when op-
erating in shallow water.

Tilt support knob

To keep the outboard motor in the tilted up
position, push the tilt support knob under the
swivel bracket.

NOTICE
Do not use the tilt support lever or knob
when trailering the boat. The outboard
motor could shake loose from the tilt sup-
port and fall. If the motor cannot be trail-

ered in the normal running position, use
an additional support device to secure it
in the tilt position.

Cowling lock lever(s) (turn type)

To remove the engine top cowling, turn the
cowling lock lever(s) and lift off the cowling.
When installing the cowling, check to be sure
it fits properly in the rubber seal. Then lock
the cowling again by returning the cowling
lock lever(s) to the lock position.
