NOTICE:

(such as a connector on the back of the computer).
 
NOTICE:
To help prevent damage to the system board, you must remove the battery from the battery bay before you begin working inside the
computer.
 Removing the Center Control Cover
 
1. Follow the procedures in
Before You
 
2. Turn the computer over and remove the screws that secure the hinge cover to the battery bay. For the Vostro™ A840, there are four screws. For the 
Vostro™ A860, there are eight screws. 
 
3. Turn the computer over and open the display as far as possible.
 
NOTICE:
Be extremely careful when removing the center control cover. The cable connector is very fragile.
 
4. Pry out the center control cover from left to right.

5. Remove the center control cover.
