Overlap two raw edges together and use this stitch to join
them.

(_) Presser foot: Zigzag foot
Use this stitch to join two pieces of fabric to create an open
work appearance and add design interest. Fold under each
fabric edge 1.3cm(1/2") and press. Pin the two edges to
paper or tearaway backing 0o3cm (1/8") apart. Sew slowly,
guiding the fabric so the needle catches the folded edge on
each side.
