Setting Surface
Controls
Setting induction cooking zones
Start most cooking
operations
on a higher setting
and then
set to a lower setting
to finish cooking.
Suggested
power
level settings are shown in Fig. 1. The suggested
settings
may vary slightly
depending
on the pan material
type and
amount
of food
being prepared.
For induction
cooking
be sure to use cookware
that is
constructed
with magnetic
base material
and meets the
minimum
and maximum
pan size requirements.

Important
notes:
The power settings
shown in Fig. 1 are based on cooking
with medium
sized pans with lids.
Be sure to make any
further
setting
adjustments
for best surface
cooking
results.
The induction cooking zones will not glow
red when they are hot. The glass surface may be hot from
residual
heat transferred
from the cookware
and burns
may occur.
Do not touch hot cookware
or pans
directly with hands. Always
use oven mitts or pot holders
to protect
hands from burns.
Do not place flammable
items such as
plastic salt and pepper
shakers, spoon holders or plastic
wrappings
on top of the range when it is in use. These items
could melt or ignite if placed
too close to hot cookware.
To operate cooking zones:
1. Place induction cookware
on cooking
zone.
ON
2. To activate the cooking
zone press and hold
for
the desired cooking
zone until a tone sounds.
3. Set the power level. Press Lo, Med (5.0) or Hi once.
Please note that the Hi selection will automatically
start
with Power Boost (Fig. 2) setting for the first ten minutes
then automatically
adjust to Hi setting (Fig. 3).
If a different
setting
is desired,
each press of the Lo or
Hi keypad
will decrease
or increase
the displayed
power level by .5 increments
from 9.5 through
3.0.
Simmer power
levels between
3.0 and 1.2 will decrease
or increase
by .2 increments.
Lo (Fig. 4) is the lowest
power level setting
available.

Pan preheat recommendations
Keep in mind that induction cooking
may decrease
the
amount
of time required
to preheat
a cooking
utensil.
When
preheating
a pan or cookware
on the cooktop
always
watch
very carefully.
Whenever
surface
cooking
the user should always
pay attention
to any cookware
and
the food items cooking
and remain
attentive
until the
cooking
process is complete.
