Setting induction
zones (cont_d)
Important
notes:
If the cookware
is moved from the center of any active
induction cooking
zone, the pan sensor will detect the
situation and the cookware
will no longer heat. The
affected
cooking
zone display window will flash until the
cookware
is moved back to center of cooking
zone.
If
the cookware
is placed
back properly
centered
on the
cooking
zone the cookware
will resume heating.
The
cooking
zone will remember
the power level setting
for
up to 3 minutes before the cooking
zone will
automatically
shut OFF.
When
initially setting the cooking
zone for Hi, the
control
will automatically
set for Power Boost. After ten
minutes the Power Boost setting
will then adiust to the Hi
power level setting. If the Hi power
level setting
is
desired
press the Lo keypad
until the Hi power level
setting appears
in display.
• The size and type of cooking
utensil used, and the
amount and type of food
being cooked
will influence
the
setting
needed for best cooking
results
• The HE (hot element)
message may appear
in the
display
windows
and remain
on after a cooking
zone is
turned
off. The HE message will remain
on until the
cooking
zones have cooled
sufficiently.
Do not allow aluminum
foil, or ANY material
that can
melt to make contact with the glass cooktop surface or
hot cookware.
If these items melt they may damage
the
ceramic cooktop or cookware.
Even though the cooking
zones may not appear
to be hot, the cookware
can
become
very hot and risidual
heat will eventually
transfer
from the cookware
to the cooktop
surface.
Home Canning
Be sure to read and observe all the following
points when
home canning
with your appliance.
Check with the USDA
(United
States Department
of Agriculture)
website
and be
sure to read all the information
they have available
as well
as follow
their recommendations
for home canning
procedures.
• Use only quality
flat bottom
canners when home
canning.
Use a straight-edge
to check canner
bottom.
• Use only a flat bottom
canner
with no ridges that
radiate
from the bottom
center when home canning
on a
ceramic
cooktop.
Make sure the diameter
of the canner does not exceed
1/2 inch (13 mm) beyond the induction cooking zone
markings.
It is recommended
to use smaller diameter
canners on ceramic
glass cooktops.
• Start with hot tap water
to bring water
to boil more
quickly.
• Use the highest heat setting
when first bringing
the water
to a boil. Once boiling
is achieved,
reduce
power level to
lowest possible
setting to maintain
that boil.
Important
note:
Never
place or straddle
a cooking
utensil over two
different
cooking
zones at the same time. It is important
to
place cookware
individually
centered
on the cooking
zones
and that the pan size used meets both minimum
and
maximum
size requirements
for the cooking
zone. If the
pan size or placement
is not correct, the pan sensor will not
allow the cooking
zone to activate.
