  Removing the Palm Rest
 
CAUTION:
Before you begin the following procedure, follow the safety instructions in the Product Information Guide.
NOTICE:
To avoid electrostatic discharge, ground yourself by using a wrist grounding strap or by periodically touching an unpainted metal surface (such
as the back panel) on the computer.

To help prevent damage to the system board, remove the main battery (see

6. Remove the eleven remaining M2.5 x 8-mm screws from the bottom of the computer.

7. Turn the computer top-side up and loosen the captive screw on the palm rest.
 
8. Disconnect the touch pad connector and the standby switch connector from the system board.
