To help prevent damage to the system board, remove the main battery (see

You can increase your computer memory by installing memory modules on the system board. See the "Specifications" section in your Mobile Manual for
information on the type of memory supported by your computer.
NOTE:
Memory modules purchased from Dell or Alienware are covered under your computer warranty.
NOTE:
If you purchased a dual-core processor, your computer supports only memory modules installed in connectors DIMM A and DIMM B.
NOTE:
Your computer supports up to four memory module connectors. You can access connectors DIMM A and DIMM B by removing the base cover at the
bottom of your computer. You can access connectors DIMM C and DIMM D by removing the keyboard.

To remove memory module(s) from connectors DIMM A and DIMM B, go to step
 
5. To remove memory module(s) from connectors DIMM C and DIMM D:

CAUTION:
To prevent damage to the memory-module connector, do not use tools to spread the memory module securing clips.
 
6. Using your fingertips, spread apart the securing clips on each end of the memory-module connector until the memory module pops up.
