4. By opening the fuser lever, loosen the jammed paper. Then gently pull
the paper straight out.
5. Put the fuser levers to their original position and close the rear cover.
Printing automatically resumes.

In the duplex unit area

If the duplex unit is not inserted correctly, paper jam may occur. Make sure
that the duplex unit is inserted correctly.
For some models, optional duplex unit needs to be installed to use the
duplex feature (see "Features by Models" on page 23).

1. Open the rear cover
2. Remove the jammed paper by pulling in the direction shown. To avoid
tearing the paper, pull it out gently and slowly.
3. Close the rear cover.
If the paper does not move when you pull or if you do not see the paper
in this area, stop and go to the next step.
4. Pull the duplex unit out of the machine.
5. Locate the jammed paper and remove it.
6. Insert the duplex unit into the slot.
7. Open and close the top cover to resume printing.
If the top cover is not completely closed, the machine will not oper-
ate.
