Your new machine is equipped with a number of special features that improve the quality of the documents you print.
SPECIAL FEATURES
Print with excellent quality and speed
• You can print with a resolution of up to 1,200 x 1,200 dpi
effective output.
• ML-551x Series prints A4-sized paper at up to 52 ppm, and
letter-sized paper at up to 55 ppm.
• ML-651x Series prints A4-sized paper at up to 62 ppm, and
letter-sized paper at up to 65 ppm.
Handle many different types of printable material
• The multi-purpose tray supports special types of print media
in various sizes.
• The tray 1 and optional trays support plain paper in various
sizes (See "Print media specifications" on page 108).
Create professional documents (Windows only)
• Print Watermarks. You can customize your documents with
words, such as "Confidential" (See "Using watermarks" on
page 53).
• Print Posters. The text and pictures of each page of your
document are magnified and printed across the sheet of
paper and can then be taped together to form a poster (See
"Printing posters" on page 51).
• You can use preprinted forms with plain paper (See"Using
overlay (PCL driver only)" on page 53).
Save time and money
• To save paper, you can print multiple pages on one single
sheet of paper (See "Printing multiple pages on one sheet of
paper" on page 51).
• This machine automatically conserves electricity by substan-
tially reducing power consumption when not in use.
• To save paper, you can print on both sides of the paper (dou-
ble-sided printing). For some models, you need to install an
optional duplex unit to use the duplex feature (See "Printing
on both sides of paper" on page 52).
Expand your machine's capacity
• Your machine has an extra memory slot to expand the mem-
ory (See "Available accessories" on page 95).
• Zoran IPS Emulation* compatible with PostScript 3 (PS)
enables PS printing.

If you have a USB memory device, you can use it in various
ways with your machine.
• You can directly print data stored in the device.
