15 Measurements and Adjustments

15.1. Color Registration Skew Adjustment

This adjustment is required when replacing, disassembling, reinstalling the following parts.
• Drum Cartridge Holder Assembly
• LSU
• Main Drive Unit
Step
1 Open the front cover, then remove the front cover. (Refer to Open Drum Cartridge Cover (P.326).)
2 Remove the Drum Cartridge Holder Assembly. (Refer to Open Drum Cartridge Cover (P.326).)
3 Prepare the Drum Cartridge Holder Unit with the lock levers which the Color Registration Skew Adjustment is required. (Refer to Front Cab-
inet Section 2 (P.450)
4 Make sure that the 4 Drum Cartridges (Yellow, Magenta, Cyan, Black) are installed correctly.
5 Fix the Drum Cartridge Holder Unit by the lock levers as shown below. Do not install the Drum Cartridge Cover.
6 Reinstall the front cover.
7 Close the front door, and then turn on the power.

After finishing the initializing, press the keys in order of the MENU, #, 9, 0, 0, 0,
9 The Color Registration Skew Detection Mode is activated, and the following message is displayed.
10 To detect the amount of the Color Registration Skew, press the Black button. The following message is displayed while detecting the amount
of the Color Registration Skew.
