3.1.2. EDGE GlOw

edge glow is a bright area (sometimes sparkling) in the outer portion
of the viewing area (Figure 3-2). to check for edge glow, block out
all light by cupping a hand over the lenses. If the image tubes are
displaying edge glow the bright area will still show up. Contact atN

3.1.3. FlASHING, FlICKERING, OR INTERMITTENT
OPERATION
the image may appear to flicker or flash. If there is more than one
flicker, check for loose battery adapter or weak battery. Contact atN
or point of purchase for warranty/repair procedures.

3.1.4. COSMETIC BlEMISHES

these are usually the result of manufacturing imperfections that do
not affect image intensifiers reliability and are not normally a rea-
son to claim for warranty or repair work. However, some types of
blemishes can get worse over time and interfere with the usability
