cause or causes of a malfunction in T-Series Climate
Changer operation. The column header
" RECOMMENDED ACTION " suggests repair
procedures.

T-Series Climate Changer Trouble Analysis
SYMPTOM
Bearing is excessively hot
Motor fails to start
Motor stalls
Excessive vibration

PROBABLE CAUSE
First start after relubrication (Grease
distribution)
Over-lubrication
Over tensioned belts
No lubricant
Misaligned bearing
Blown fuse or open circuit breaker
Overload trip
Improper wiring or connections
Improper current supply
Mechanical failure
Open phase
Overloaded motor
Low line voltage
Poor alignment
Shipping spacers not removed
Over tensioned belts
Misaligned drive
before inspecting or servicing the
unit. Failure to do so may result in
personal injury or death from elec-
trical shock or moving parts.
Disconnect electrical power prior
to access into a fan or ductwork.
Even when locked out electrically,
fans may cause injury or damage if
the impeller is subject to "wind-
milling." The impeller should be
secured to physically restrict rota-
tional movement. Failure to secure
impeller can cause severe per-
sonal injury or death.
RECOMMENDED ACTION
Allow machine to cool down and
restart.
Clean surface of grease and purge.
Adjust belt tension.
Apply lubricant. Check bearings for
damage.
Correct alignment. Check shaft level.
Replace fuse or reset circuit breaker.
Check and reset overload.
Check wiring with diagram supplied on
unit.
Compare actual supply power with
motor nameplate recommendations.
Contact power company for
adjustments.
Check that motor and drive rotate
freely. Check bearing lubricant.
Check line for an open phase.
Reduce load or replace with larger
motor.
Check voltage across AC line. Correct
voltage if possible.
Align bearing set screws (Figure 50 ).
Loosen and retighten bearing set
screws.
Remove shipping spacers and/or
bolts. See Figure 18 and Figure 19 .
Adjust belt tension.
Align drive.
