    Of these components, one of the most important is the surround processor, which handles audio and video switching for the theater system. Landmark Cinema controls this device via an IR emitter. Up to seven additional IR-controlled devices can be controlled by a Landmark Cinema system.

    PLC-MCU Master Control Unit, which is essentially a computer that runs on the Landmark Cinema's PhastLink network. The PLC-MCU runs the project code that is stored in its 2MB on onboard RAM. The other card used in the Landmark Cinema package is the PLC-IROUT IR Output card.

    Viewpoint Wireless Touch Panels The PHAST Viewpoint Wireless Touch Panel (Figure 6) provides a fully programmable graphical control interface with the Landmark Cinema system. Available with color or grayscale screens, the Viewpoint's graphical interface can be quickly and easily custom tailored for any client's needs, with many possible menu levels and screens.

    Once the program has been downloaded to the PLC-MCU card, the computer may be disconnected from the Landmark Cinema system and the program will run from the PLC-MCU card. If programming changes are to be made, the computer must be reconnected to the Landmark Cinema system and the new program downloaded to the PLC-MCU.
