Passwords

If you have set a password, only a person who knows the password can start the
system of your notebook. See also Chapter 8.
Zf you lose your password, you will be unable to access the notebook or
change the configuration. Make sure to select a password you will never
forget, or write it down and protect it in a secure place. Otherwise, you
will have to contact your dealer for assistance.

Setting the Password

Turn on or restart the notebook.

When <F2> to enter System Configuration Utility appears, press F2.

Click Security; then, System Password.

Type your password, and press Enter. The password can be up to eight
characters.
Type the same password for confirmation, and press Enter.

Click the item Enable Password. The X mark is attached.
7.
Click OK - Exit - Save Changes and Exit - OK. The notebook restarts and asks
the password you have set.

Deleting the Password

1.
Turn on or restart the notebook.
When <F2> to enter System Configuration Utility appears, press F2.

Click Security; then, System Password.
3.
In the item Enter old Power-On Password, type the password and press Enter.
4.
At the next two items, just press Enter without typing any letters.

Click the item Enable Password. The X mark is deleted.
Click OK - Exit - Save Changes and Exit - OK. The notebook restarts.
