ADJUSTMENTS
Drive Control
Whenthedrivecontrol is releasedand in thedisengaged"up"position,
the cableshouldhavevery little slack.It shouldNOTbe tight. Also,
ifthereisexcessiveslackin thedrive cableor if the unitexperiences
intermittent drivewhileusing,the cable mayneed to be adjusted.
Checktheadjustmentof the drivecontrolas follows:
1.
With thedrivecontrol released,pushthe snowthrowergently
forward.The unitshouldroll freely.
2.
Engagethe drivecontroland gently attemptto pushthe snow
throwerforward.Thewheelsshouldnotturn. The unitshouldnot
roll freely.
If anyof the abovetests failed,the drivecable isin needof adjustment.
Proceedas follows:
1.
Shutoff theengineas instructed i nthe Operationsection.
2.
Loosenthe lowerhexbolt on the drivecable bracket.See Figure
19.
3.
Positionthe bracketupwardto providemoreslack(or downward
to increasecabletension).
4.
Retightenthe lowerhex bolt.
5.
Checktheadjustmentof the drivecontrolas describedabove.

If the spiralat the bottomof the chutedirectionalcontrol isnotfully
engagingwith the chuteassembly,the chute bracketcan be adjusted.
Todo so:
1.
Loosenthe two nuts which securethechute bracketand reposi-
tion itslightly.See Figure20.
2.
Retightenthe nuts.

controlcable.
