blade(s)only,listed in this manual.Use of parts whichdo not
meetthe originalequipmentspecifications may lead to improper
performanceand compromise safety!
• Mowerbladesare sharp.Wrapthe blade or weargloves,and use
extracautionwhen servicingthem.
• Keepall nuts,bolts,and screwstight to be surethe equipmentis
in safeworkingcondition.
• Nevertamperwith the safetyinterlocksystemor othersafety
devices.Checktheir properoperationregularly.
• After strikinga foreignobject,stop the engine,disconnectthe
spark plugwire(s) and groundagainstthe engine.Thoroughly
inspectthe machinefor anydamage.Repairthe damagebefore
startingandoperating.
• Neverattemptto makeadjustmentsor repairsto the machine
whilethe engineis running.
• Grasscatchercomponents and the dischargecoverare subject
to wearand damagewhich couldexposemovingparts or allow
objectsto be thrown.Forsafetyprotection,frequentlycheck
components and replaceimmediately with originalequipment
manufacturer's (O.E.M.)parts only,listed in this manual.Use of
parts whichdo not meetthe originalequipmentspecifications may
lead to improperperformanceand compromise safety!
• Do notchangethe enginegovernorsettingsor over-speed the
engine.The governorcontrolsthe maximumsafeoperatingspeed
of the engine.
• Maintainor replacesafety and instructionlabels,as necessary.
• Observeproperdisposallawsand regulationsfor gas,oil, etc. to
protectthe environment.
• Accordingto the ConsumerProductsSafetyCommission(CPSC)
and the U.S.Environmental P rotectionAgency(EPA),this product
hasan AverageUsefulLifeof seven(7) years,or 270 hoursof
operation.At theend of the AverageUsefulLifehavethe machine
inspectedannuallyby Searsor anotherqualifieddealer to ensure
that all mechanical a nd safetysystemsare workingproperlyand
notworn excessively. F ailureto do socan resultin accidents,
injuriesor death.

Tampering with the governorsettingcanlead to a runaway engineand
cause it to operateat unsafespeeds.Nevertamper with factorysetting
of enginegovernor.

Engineswhich are certifiedto complywith Californiaand federal
EPAemissionregulations for SORE(SmallOff RoadEquipment) are
certifiedto operateon regularunleadedgasoline,and may include
the followingemissioncontrol systems:EngineModification (EM)and
ThreeWay Catalyst(TWO)if so equipped.
SPARK ARRESTOR
This machineis equippedwith an internalcombustion engine and
shouldnot be usedon or near anyunimproved forest-covered,
brush-covered or grass-covered land unlessthe engine'sexhaust
systemis equippedwith a sparkarrestormeetingapplicablelocalor
statelaws (if any).
If a sparkarrestoris used,it shouldbe maintained in effectiveworking
order by the operator.Inthe Stateof Californiatheaboveis required
by law (Section4442of the CaliforniaPublicResources Code). Other
states mayhavesimilarlaws.Federallaws applyon federallands.
