Basic operating information ond using your Entertainment Machine with other equipment
Turn on the 13/and other equipment.
Select your picture and sound source. See information on tuners and picture sources below.
Adjust controls for picture (Video) and sound (Audio). See short descriptions of the on-screen menus/displays
beginning on page 18 and 19; use these to personalize the features of your Entertainment Nachine.
There are a number of ways you can chooseto integrate your Entertainment t4achine with the rest of your audio/video
equipment. ChanneLs can be changedusing the te|evislon, the VCR,or the cable box, with advantagesto each.
USING THE TELEVISION AS THE TUNER presewesat[ your channellabels (not available on some modeLs).It aLso
reduces the numberof keyson the remotecontrolyou need to wornd about. (One device,one remoteto learn.)
USING THE VCR AS THE TUNER has the advantage of simplifying the recording process. If the VCRis tuned to chan-
net seven, then the VCRwill recordchannel seven.
USING THE CABLE BOX (if you have one) to changethe stations sometimes has an advantage, too, especiaLLy if your
cable providerrequires you to use their cable box to descramble their stations.

The source key (13//VCRSource)on the remote, switches between Videoinput and Antenna/Cableinput. The
Channel/Timedisplay will read "Video"in place of a channetnumberif A/V inputs are selected as the picture source.
Antenna/CableInput: Thissetting allowsyou to changecable or antenna channeLs and to view videocassettes on chan-
nel 3 (or 4) in mono sound.
Video Input: This setting allows stereo playback of videocassettes. The televisioncannot changechanneLs i n the Video
mode,but the VCRcan.
Toview the current input source, press ENTER.on your remote. The Channel/Time displayshould appearin the upperfight-hand
comer of the screen. If the display reads "Video,"then the picture and soundsource is connectedto one set of the Audio/Video
inputjacks. If the disploy reads a channel number,then the picture and sound sourceis the Antenno/Cablejack.
