The flash does not work.
• The flash is set to ($) (Flash forced off) (_ stU) 5 in "R('ad Thia First ').
• You cannot use the flash when:
Multi Burst, Burst or Exposure Bracket mode is selected (page 41 ).
1_6(High Sensitivity) or _ (T_ ilight) is selected in the Scene Selection.
When the mode dial is set to _.
• Set the flash to {g(Flash forced on) when _'__ (Beach), _ (High-Speed Shutter) or []
(Landscape) is selected in the Scene Selection.
The close-up (Macro) function does not work.
• .,,) (T_ ilight) or [] (Landscape) is selected in the Scene mode (page 34).
The date and time are not displayed.
• While shooting, the date and time are not disphlyed. Only during playback, Ihe date and time
are displayed.
The date and time are recorded incorrectly.
• Set the correct date and time (_ stu_ 2 in "R('ad This Firat').
The F value and shutter speed flash when you press and hold the shutter
button halfway down.
• The exposure is incorrect. Correct the exposure (page 37, _ a,' U ) ,5 irl "Read This Firat' h

is too dark.
• You are shooting
a subject _ith a light source behind the su'qiect. Select
the metering
mode
(page 45) or a(ljust the exposure
(page 37, _ ste t) 5 in "Read This Fi_:st").
• When the brightness
of the LCD backlight
(DSC-H5
only)/finder
backlight
is too low, adjust
the brightness
of the backlight
(page 65, _ st,7) 5 in "Read This Fi_:st').
• The LCD screen becomes
dark x_hile the flash is being charged (DSC-H5
only).
The image is too bright.
• You are shooting a spotlighted sul!ject in a dark location such as on a stage. Adjust the
exposure !page 37, _ stu) 5 in "Read This Firft ').
• When the brightness of the LCD backlight (DSC-H5 only)/finder backlight is too high, adjust
Ihe brightness of Ihe backlight (page 65, _ step 5 in "Read This Fi_:st').
The image colors are not correct.
• Adjust the [Color Mode] to [Normal] (page 45).
Vertical streaks appear when you are shooting a very bright subject.
• The smear phenomenon is occurring. This phenomenon is not a malfunction.
