Euphonix R-1 Transfer Station Operation Manual
Introduction
The R-1 Transfer Station archives R-1 recordings in the non-proprietary AES 31 format.
The recordings can then be used in any AES 31-compliant recorder, stored on a server,
and backed up like other types of critical data.
The Transfer Station has many of the same features found in the R-1, such as editing
and moving audio clips, but does not play or record audio. Review the following pages
in the R-1 Operation Manual to learn about file management, editing, and features of
the R-1 that are present in the Transfer Station:
13–14, 31–36, 48–66, 121–156, 168–192, 227–237, and 244–249
Review chapters 2–5 in the R-1 3.0 Addendum.
CAUTION:The Transfer Station software cannot be installed on the same computer
New Features
The Transfer Station can convert any Sheet from an R-1 Title to an AES Edit Decision
List (EDL), named with an .adl suffix, and an AES 31 Broadcast Wave File (BWF),
named with a .wav suffix. The process can also be reversed: AES 31 content can be con-
verted back into an R-1 Title or Sheet for playback and editing on an R-1.
NOTE: The R-1 title does not get converted to an AES 31 Title in the Export process,
but that a Sheet from an R-1 Title becomes an AES 31 Title.
Setting Default Export and Import Folders
Before Exporting from or Importing into the Transfer Station, set up the Default Folders
Location. This is the location the Transfer Station uses to access exported titles and
place imported titles. These settings are found in the AES31 import and export dialogs.
that runs the R-1 software. Do not install the Transfer Station software on
an R-1 Pilot PC. The Transfer Station software runs only on the Windows
2000 operating system.
