Why d oes S amsung
use HDMI?
Analog TVs require
an analog
video/audio
signal.
However,
when playing
aBD/DVD,
the data
transmitted
toaTV isdigital.
Therefore
either adigital-to-analog
converter
(in the Blu-ray

analog-to-digital
converter
(in the T V) isrequired.
During
this c onversion,
the picture
quality isdegraded
due t o
noise and s ignal loss. HDMI technology

because
itrequires
no D/A conversion
and i sapure d igital
signal from the player toyour TV.
