To Stop Engine
Operating Tips
1. To stopengine,turnignitionkey counter-clockwise.
Disconnectthe sparkplug wirefrom the spark plug
to preventaccidentalstartingwhile equipmentis
unattended.
To help preventpossiblefreeze-up of starter,
proceedas follows:
1. Runenginefor a few minutesbeforestoppingto help
dry off anymoistureon the engine.
2. Electric Starter (optional}: Connectpowercordto
switch boxon engine,thento 120volt AC receptacle.
With the enginerunning,pushstarterbutton and spin
the starterfor severalseconds.The unusualsound
madeby spinningthe starterwill not harmengine or
starter. Disconnect t he powercordfrom receptacle
first, and then from switchbox.
3. RecoilStarter: Withenginerunning, p ullstarterrope
witha rapid,continuous fullarmstrokethreeor four
times.Pulling thestarterropewillproduce a loudclatter-
ingsound, w hichis notharmful to theengineor starter.
4. Wipeall snowand moisturefrom the carburetorcover
in the areaof thecontrol levers.Also, movecontrol
levers backand forth severaltimes. Leavechoke
control inthe FULLchoke position.
5. Removeignition key and disconnectsparkplug wireto
preventaccidentalstarting.
Operating
the Snow Thrower
The pitch of thechute assemblycontrolstheangle at
which the snowisthrown.Adjust the chuteassemblyby
followingthe instructions below.
1. Loosenthewing knobfoundon the left sideof the
chute assemblyand pivot the upperchute upwardor
downwardto the desiredpitch.Retightenthe wing
knob beforeoperatingthe snowthrower.
2. Positionthe chuteassemblyopeningby usingthe
Chute Handleto throwthe snowin thedesireddirec-
tion. See Figure6.
1. Dischargesnowdownwindwheneverpossible.
Slightlyoverlapeachpreviouslyclearedpath.
2. Lifting up on the handlewill allowthe rubberon the
augersto propelthe snowthrowerforward.Pushing
downward on the handlewill raisethe augersoff the
groundand stop forwardmotion.
NOTE: Excessiveupwardpressureon the handlewill
result in prematurewearon the rubberauger blades
whichwouldnot be coveredbywarranty.
3. Runthe enginefor a few minutesbeforestoppingto
help dry anymoistureon the engine.
4. Cleanthe snowthrowerthoroughly after each use.
