REAR ROLLER
ADJUSTMENT
The rear rollerson the mowerdeck are not designedto carry the
weightof the deck.The rear rollersshouldbe adjustedto approxi-
mately1/4"to 1/2"abovethe groundwhenthe deck is movedto the
desiredcuttingheight.
Placethetractoron a smooth,fiat surface,movethe deck to the
desiredcuttingheight,and checkthe heightof the rear rollers.If
contactingthe ground,or above 1/2"fromthe ground,adjust the rear
rollersas follows:
Thedeck rollerassemblyindexbrackethasfive adjustmentposition
holes.

Whilesupportingthe rollerassembly,removeclick pin and
withdrawtheclevis pin from boththe left and right rollerindex
brackets.See Figure25.

Positionthe rollerassemblyso that the rollersare approximately

Align thenearestindexbracketholeswith the holesin the deck
mountingbrackets.Insertthe clevispinsthroughthe deck
bracketsand the indexbracketsand securewith the click pins.
See Figure25.
NOTE:The clevispinsshouldbe in the corresponding holesof both
the left and rightrollerindexbrackets.

Checking
the Engine
Oil
Onlyusehigh quality detergent o il ratedwith API serviceclassification
SF,SG, SH, or SJ. Selectthe oil'sSAE viscositygrade accordingto
the expectedoperatingtemperature.Followthe chart below.

Althoughmulti-viscosity oils (5W20, 10W30, e tc.) improvestarting
incoldweather,they will resultin increasedoil consumption when
usedabove32°E Checkyourengineoil levelmorefrequentlyto avoid
possibleenginedamagefrom runninglow on oil.
Tocheckthe engineoil, proceedas follows:
1.
Ensurethat the tractoris on a levelsurface.
2.
Cleanthe oil fill area of any debris.
3.
Removethe dipstickand wipewith a cleancloth.
4.
Insertand tighten dipstick.
5.
Removethe dipstickand checkthe oil level. It shouldbe at the
Fullmarkon the dipstick.See Figure26.

If low, add oil slowlyintotheengineoil fill. Donot overfill.After
addingoil, wait one minuteand then recheckthe oil level.
Do notoverfill.Overfillingwith oil may causethe engineto not start,
hardstarting,or enginesmoking.If overthe FULL markon the
dipstick,drain oil to reduceoil levelto FULLmarkon dipstick.
7.
Replaceand tightendipstick.
