6. The handgrip pulse
sensor does not func-
tion properly
a. Make sure to stand on the foot rails and avoid moving your hands while mea-
suring your heart rate. Excessive movement may interfere with heart rate read-
ings. If the handgrip pulse sensor is not used correctly, your heart rate will not be
shown.
b. Do notholdthemetal contacts tootightly;
doing so may interfere withheartrate
readings.
c. Forthe most accurateheartratereading, holdthecontacts for about 15 seconds.
d. For optimal performanceofthehandgrippulsesensor,keep thecontacts clean.
The contacts can be cleanedwitha soft cloth--never u se alcohol, a brasives, o r
chemicals.
