Engine/blade control feature onmower stops
engine and blade within 3 seconds whenever
operator releases handlebar. Check this
feature frequently. Iffeature fails tooperate,
disconnect spark plug w ire a nd adjust orhave
itrepaired before using u nit.
Only t rained adults may o perate orservice
unit. Training includes actual operation. The
owner isresponsible fortraining users.
NEVER operate after orduring the use of
medication, drugs oralcohol. Unit requires
complete and unimpaired attention.
NEVER allow children touse orservice
mower.
ALWAYS keep h ands and feet a way from
rotating parts. Rotating parts can cut o ff b ody
parts.
ALWAYS keep h ands away f rom pinch p oints.
Fumes from engine exhaust can cause death
orserious injury. DO NOT r un engine inan
enclosed area.
ALWAYS protect eyes, face, and body w ith
adequate safety gear and protective clothes.
Wear sturdy footwear, gloves, ahard h at a nd

shields while o perating mower.
Wear appropriate hearing protection.
NEVER operate mower barefoot orwhen
wearing open s andals orcanvas shoes.
NEVER wear loose c lothes, long hair o r

operating unit.

ALWAYS shut off e ngine, remove key
(electric start models) and disconnect spark
plug w ire t oprevent accidental starting or
unauthorized use.
Stop e ngine ifanyone enters the work a rea.
NEVER attempt tomake a ny adjustments to
unit while e ngine isrunning (except where
specifically recommended). Stop e ngine,
remove key (electric start models) and wait
forall m oving parts tostop b efore servicing.
DO NOT m ake c utting height wheel
adjustments while t he engine isrunning.
Ifyou strike a nobject, orifequipment
vibrates abnormally, stop e ngine atonce, wait
formoving parts t ostop a nd disconnect wire
from spark plug. Repair any damage before
restarting unit.
Keep r ear door closed when e ngine is
running unless the grass bag isinplace.
Stop e ngine before removing and emptying
grass bag.
When m ulching orbagging, ALWAYS install
discharge cover.
When s ide d ischarging, ALWAYS install side
discharge deflector.
ALWAYS shut off e ngine, allow blade tostop
and disconnect spark plug w ire before
clearing clogs o rcleaning unit.
Check grass bag for w ear, damage, and/or
deterioration. Replace only w ith Ariens
original equipment replacement parts f or
safety.
To reduce fire hazard and overheating, keep
equipment free ofgrass, leaves, debris or
excessive lubricants.
Use extra c are w hen a pproaching blind
corners, shrubs, trees, orother objects which
may o bscure vision.
