whenthe snowthroweris not in use.
NOTE:Do notturn the keyin an attemptto start
the engine.Doingso maycause it to break.
Electric Starter Button
Pressingthe electricstarterbuttonengagesthe engine'selectric
starterwhenpluggedintoa 120Vpowersource.
Clean=Out Tool
Neveruseyour handsto clear a cloggedchuteassembly.Shutoff
engineand remainbehindhandlesuntilall movingpartshavestopped
[before usng the c can-out too to c ear thechute assemby.
The chuteclean-outtool is conveniently fastenedto the rearof the
auger housingwith a mountingclip. Shouldsnowand ice become
lodgedin the chute assemblyduringoperation,proceedas followsto
safelycleanthe chuteassemblyand chuteopening:
1. Releaseboththe AugerControland the Drive Control.
2. Stoptheengine by removing the key.
3. Removethe clean-outtool from the clipwhich securesit to the
rearof the auger housing.
4. Usethe shovel-shaped end of the clean-outtoolto dislodgeand
scoopanysnow and ice whichhas formedin and nearthe chute
assembly.
5. Refasten the clean-outtoolto the mountingclip on the rearof
the auger housing,reinsertthe keyand startthe snow thrower's
engine.
6. Whilestandingin theoperator'sposition(behindthe snow
thrower),engagethe augercontrolfor a few secondsto clearany
remainingsnowand icefrom the chuteassembly.

Electric Starter Outlet
Requiresthe useof a three-prongoutdoorextensioncord(included)
and a 120Vpowersource/walloutlet.
Primer
Pressingthe primerforcesfuel directlyinto
engine'scarburetor to aid in cold-weatherstarting, qk_/,..=_,,L.,_
Referto the startinginstructionsin theOperation I
sectionof this manualfor properprimerusage.The |
imagetothe rightcorrespondswith the labelon the
engineidentifyingthe primer.
Oil Fill
Removeoil cap to add oil. Referto the Maintenance & Service section
for checkingand addingoil instructions.
Gasoline Cap
Removegascap to add fuel. Unit runson regulargas.
NOTE:This unit may include a fuel plug,whichisonly usedduring
assemblyto keepdirt and debrisout of fueltank. Discardthefuel plug
beforefillingthe fuel tank.
Throttle Control
Read,understand,and follow all instructionsand warningson the
machineand inthis manualbeforeoperating.
Check Engine Oil
The unitwas shippedwith oil in the engine.Checkoil levelbeforeeach
operationto ensureadequateoil inthe engine.Forfurther instructions,
referto the Maintenance & Servicesectionof this manual.
NOTE:Be sureto checkthe engineon a levelsurfacewith theengine
stopped.
1. Removethe oil filler cap/dipstickand wipe thedipstickclean.
2. Insertthe cap/dipstickintothe oil filler neck,turn thecap 1/4turn
untilfully seated.
NOTE:On someengines,a threadedcap/dipstickmayexist
insteadof a 1/4turncap as describedabove. Inthis instancedo
notfully tightenthe capto checktheoil level.Simply restthe cap
on the threadsto checkfor properoil level.
Removethe oil filler cap/dipstick.If the levelis low,slowlyadd
oil (5W-30,with a minimumclassificationof SF/SG)untiloil level
registersbetweenhigh (H) and low (L).
NOTE:Donot overfill.Overfillingwith oil may resultin enginesmoking,
hardstartingor sparkplug fouling.
4. Replaceand tightencap/dipstickfirmly beforestartingengine.
Thethrottlecontrolis locatedon the engine.It regulatesthe speedof
the engineand will shutoff the enginewhenplacedin the Stop__
position.
