Tighten
the Chain
• Spin the inner nut and lock washer down the trolley
threaded shat_,away from the trolley.
• To tighten the chain, turn outer nut in the direction
shown (Figure 1).
• When the chain is approximately 112"above the
base of the rail at its midpoint, re-tightenthe inner
nut to secure the adjustment.
Sprocket noise can result if chain is too loose.
When installationis complete, you may notice some
chain droop with the door closed. This is normal. If
the chain returns to the positionshown in Figure 2
when the door is open, do not re-adjust the chain.
NOTE: During future maintenance, ALWAYS pull the
emergency release handle to disconnecttrolley
before adjusting chain.
NOTE: Youmay notice loosening of chain after
Adjustment Step 3 (Test the Safety Reversal
System). Check for proper tension and readjust
chain if necossary. Then repeat Adjustment Step 3.
You have now finished assembling your garage
door opener. Please read the following warnings
before proceeding
to the Installation
section.

INSTALLATION
IMPORTANT INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
To reduce the risk of severe injury or death:
1. READANDFOLLOW ALLINSTALLATION W ARNINGS
ANDINSTRUCTIONS.
2. Install g aragedooropeneronlyon properlybalanced
and lubricated garagedoor.Animproperly balanced
door maynot reverse when required andcouldresultin
severeinjuryor death.
3. All repairs to cables,springassemblies a ndother
hardware MUSTbe madebya trained doorsystems
technician beforeinstalling opener.
4. Disable all locks and removeall ropesconnected to
garage door beforeinstalling opener to avoid
entanglement.
5. Installgaragedooropener 7 feetor moreabovefloor.
6. Mountemergency release handle6 feet abovefloor.
7. NEVER connect g aragedooropener to power source
untilinstructed to do so.
8. NEVER wearwatches, r ingsor looseclothing while
installing or servicing opener. Theycouldbecaught in
garagedooror opener mechanisms.
9. Installwall-mounted g aragedoorcontrol:
• withinsightof thegaragedoor
• out of reachof children at minimum height of 5 feet
• awayfrom all movingparts ofthe door.
10. Placeentrapment warninglabelon wallnextto garage
doorcontrol.
11. Placemanualrelease/safety r everse test labelin plain
viewon insideofgaragedoor.
12. Uponcompletion of installation, testsafetyreversal
system.DoorMUSTreverse on contact witha one-
inchhighobject(or a 2x4 laid flat)on thefloor.
