Automatic Scene Selection
The camera automatically selects one of the following scenes when you point the
camera at a subject.
• D Auto mode (general use) (_ 29)
• _ Portrait (_ 37)
• I1_ Landscape (_ 37)
• I1_ Night landscape (_40)
• _ Night portrait (_ 38)
• _ Backlight (_ 42)
• B Close-up (_ 40)

Notes about Face Priority
• Tile carnera may be unable to detect faces in tile following situations:
"< When faces are partially hidden by sunglasses or other obstructions
o__ When the subject is not looking directly at the camera
When faces take up too much or too little of the frame
• Tile camera's ability to detect faces depends on a variety of factors, inchding
•_ whether or not tile subject is facing tile camera.
• In some cases, included those noted in "Autofocus" (_ 25), autofocus may not
c> perform as expected, and tile subject may not be in focus despite the fact that
S' tile double border glows green. When tile camera is unable to focus, use
o another mode, such as I_1 (auto) mode, focus on another subject positioned at
tile same distance from tile camera as tile actual portrait subject, and use focus
lock (_ 29).
Restrictions applied to the functions in the easy auto mode
Tile macro mode button (_ 11,34) on tile multi selector is not available.
Flash Settings in Easy Auto Mode
• When the built-in flash is raised, the camera automatically sets the flash mode
(_ 30) according to the determined scene mode. _ (flash mode) (_ 11) on
the multi selector is not available.
• When tile built-in flash is lowered, flash is set to off.
