Enable
motion
detection
to reduce
the effects
of subject
movement
and camera
shake when
shooting
still images.
Auto
(default setting)
Off
When the camera detects the subject movement or camera shake,
the ISO sensitivity and shutter speed are automatically
increased
to reduce blurring.
However, motion detection does not function
in the following
situations:
When the touch shooting setting is set to Subject tracking.
When the flash fires.
When ISO sensitivity
(6"_42) is set to Fixed range auto, or
ISO sensitivity is fixed at a particular value in i_1 (auto) mode.
When Multi-shot
16 (_43)is
selected.
When Sports (_44),
Night portrait
(_44),
Dusk/dawn
(_]]45), Night landscape
([_46),
Museum (_]]47),
Fireworks show ([_47),
Backlighting
(_]]48) or Pet
portrait (_]49)
scene mode is enabled.
Motion detection is not enabled.

Notes About
Motion
Detection
• Motion detection may be unable to completely eliminate the effects of subject movement and
camera shake in some situations.
• Motion detection may not function if the subject exhibits significant movement or is too dark.
• The images captured using motion detection may be somewhat "grainy" in appearance.
