Inserting Batteries into the Remote Control
Before you can use the remote control, you must first insert the
supplied
batteries.
If you want to use this remote control to operate
your TV or cable box, you must also program
the remote, as described
in the Appendix
on page 70.
To install the batteries:

Push and slide open the battery compartment.

Insert two size AA batteries
(supplied).
Be sure to line up the ÷ and
- on the batteries
with the ÷ and - on the battery compartment.
Notes on Batteries
Under normal
conditions,
batteries
will last up to six months.
If the
remote control does not operate
properly, the batteries
might be
worn out. When replacing
batteries, replace both of them with new
ones, and do not mix different
types of batteries
together.
When you remove the batteries
-- to replace them, for example --
any codes you've set may be erased. If this happens,
you must
reprogram
the remote. See "Programming
the Remote" on page 70
for details.
