Slide open the AUTO LOCK cover.
Press SHUTTER SPEED repeatedly until
the desired shutter speed indication
appears.
Each time you press the button, the indication
changes as follows.
->No indication(1/60) _ 100 (1/100)_ 250 (1/250)_]
4000 (1/4000)
_ 2000 (1/2000)
_-- 1000 (1/1000)
Notes
• When you select shutter speed 1/250 or faster,
record under sunlight or use a video light.
• When you record a TV screen with certain shutter
speeds, the brightness of the recorded picture may
vary.
• When you shoot a very bright subject at a faster
shutter speed, a light vertical, belt-like line (smear)
may appear on the screen.
• When you record at certain shutter speeds under a
light discharged tube, such as a fluorescent lamp,
sodium lamp, or mercury lamp, the brightness of the
recorded picture may vary.
In this camcorder, the iris is automatically
controlled. However, when shooting a subject that
is backlit, that is, if the light source is coming in
from behind the subject, use the BACK LIGHT
button. (L)

Slide open the AUTO LOCK cover.

Press BACK LIGHT.
The [] indication appears.
After shooting
Be sure to release this adjustment setting by
pressing BACK LIGHT again. (The [] indication
goes out.)
Otherwise, the recorded picture will be too bright.
