Playback
Pressing the playback
button does not start
playback.
Image will not appear
on the TV screen.
Tape is running, but
image will not appear

Set the camcorder to PLAY
(VCR) mode.
Load a cassette.
Rewind the tape.
Camcorder is turned off, or is
not set to PLAY (VCR) mode.
Cassette is not loaded.

[AV/PHONES_] is set to
[PHONES_] in the menu.
[AV ,,_ DV OUT] is set to
[ON].
TV/VIDEO selector on the TV
is not set to VIDEO.

Speaker volume is turned

Set [AV/PHONES_] to [AV] in
the menu.
Set [AV ,,_ DV OUT] to [OFF].
Set the selector to VIDEO.

Insert a memory card.
Cancel the protection.
Change the position of the
protect switch.
Turn off the camcorder.
Remove and reinsert the
memory card. Format the
memory card if flashing
persists.
