Even after the flash fires, ensure
that
the main subject
does not move until the
shutter
sound
is finished
playing.

Mount the camera
on a tripod
or take other
measures
to keep it
still and prevent
camera
shake.
Additionally,
you should
set [IS
Mode] to [Off] when using a tripod or other means to hold the
camera
still (_(_I14).
The setting
screen cannot
be accessed
by pressing
the <_>
button when the flash is lowered.
Lift the flash with your finger in
advance.
Just as with regular
exposure
compensation
(_93),
you can adjust the
flash exposure
from -2 to +2 stops, in 1/3-stop
increments.
Press the <@>
button,
choose
l_]
in
the menu,
and adjust the setting
by either
pressing
the <4><lb
buttons
or turning
the <_:_i_:_> d ial (_[_46).
Once the setting
is complete,
[_]
is
displayed,
When there is a risk of overexposure, the camera automatically adjusts the
shutter speed or aperture value during the flash shots to reduce washed-
out highlights and shoot at optimal exposure. However, you can deactivate
automatic adjustment of the shutter speed and aperture value by accessing
<MENU> (_-_47) and setting [Safety FE] in [Flash Settings] on the [0]
tab to [Off].
You can also configure the flash exposure compensation by accessing
<MENU> (:_47)
and choosing [Flash Exp. Comp] in [Flash Settings] on
the [O] tab.
You can also access the [Flash Settings] <MENU> screen when the flash
is up by pressing the <_.> button and immediately pressing the <MENU>
button.
