You can change
default
camera
operation
of constantly
focusing
on
subjects
it is aimed at, even when the shutter
button
is not pressed.
Instead,
you can limit camera
focusing
to the moment
you press the shutter
button
halfway.
Press the
<MENU>
button, choose
[Continuous
AF] on the [l_]
tab, and then
choose
[Off] (_47).
Helps avoid missing sudden photo
opportunities, because the camera
On constantly focuses on subjects until you
press the shutter button halfway.
Off Conserves battery power, because the

The focus can be locked. After you lock the focus, the focal
position
will not
change
even when you release
your finger from the shutter
button.

pressed
halfway,
press the <4>
button.
The focus is now locked, and [MF] and
the MF indicator are displayed.
To cancel AF lock, release
the shutter
button,
hold the shutter

halfway
down again,
and press
