The New Hardware Found screen appears even though the
printer software has already been installed.
Cause
This error may occur in the
Windows 95 operating
system.
The Status Monitor window does not appear (Windows 95
only).

The Use Print Manager for
this port option is checked in
the Queue Setup window.
The Enable bi-directional
support for this printer
option is not selected in the
Spool Settings window.
What to do
In the New Hardware Found screen,
click Do not install a driver
[Windows will not prompt you
again], then click OK.
What to do
Make sure Use Print Manager for this
port is not checked. Click the Start
button, point to Programs, point to
Epson, and click Spool Manager4.
Then click Setup on the Queue menu
in the EPSON Spool Manager
window.
You must select Enable
bi-directional support for this printer
in the Spool Settings window to use
the Status Monitor. To access the Spool
Settings window, click the Start
button, point to Settings, and click
Printers. Right-click the icon for your
printer and choose Properties from
the drop-down menu. Click the
Details tab; then click Spool Settings.
Select Enable bi-directional support
for this printer.
