j ack m ark e d CONTROL L ER on t h e Subwoof e r . Note t h at th e DIN pl ug h as
an arrow. Th e arrow s h o u l d be f ace up f or corre ct ins e r t ion into th e DI N j ack
on t h e Subwoof e r.
4. Se l e ct t h e 6.5 f t (5m ) cabl e w i t h l im e gre e n 3 . 5 m m s t e re o pl ugs on each
end and connect one e nd into th e j ack l abe l e d FRONT on th e Subwoof e r and
t h e ot h e r to th e 3.5 m m output j ack on your audio source (CD Pl aye r, s t e re o
c a s s e t t e p l aye r, com pute r sound card, e t c.).
5. Opt ional : Conne ct a s e cond audio s ource to th e Auxil iary Input at th e back
of th e Subwoof e r. Se e H ow To Enh ance Pre s e ntations W i t h Dial ogue and
Ot h e r Us e s For Th e (Aux) Auxil iary Input be l ow.
6. Conne ct t h e p o w e r cord (at back o f Subwoof e r) to an AC W a l l s o c k e t .
7. Th e unit is now r eady to ope rate . Turn on t h e audio source de v ice .

Front Input and (Aux) Auxiliary Input
Both Inputs a re e q ual . Th e Aux (Auxil iary) Input is l ocated on t h e r e a r of t h e
Subwoof e r. One Input can be us e d for th e comput e r output and th e oth e r as
de s cribe d in " H o w t o Enh ance Pre s e n t ations w i t h D ial ogue . " M a k e

USE OF CONTROLS

Power On/Off
Th e Pow e r On/ Of f but t on is l ocat ed on t h e Syst e m Control l e r. Pre s s t h e
Pow e r but t on t o t ur n on t h e s pe a k e r s y s t e m . Pus h it again to turn th e unit off.
A gr e e n L ED power indicat or in th e L ED grouping abov e t h e Mode b u t t on wil l

Master Volume Control

L ocate t h e rotary k nob on t h e Syst e m Control l e r . Th e r ot ary k nob acts a s
t h e M a s t e r V ol u m e control and h a s s e v e ral f unctions . It ope rate s as a
M a s t e r Vol um e control f or t h e ov e ral l s ys t e m w h e n no ot h e r but t ons h av e
be e n push e d. I t is al s o us e d to indiv idual l y adj us t t h e l e v e l s o f bass, t r e bl e ,
and re ar sound. I f any of t h e s e functions i s s e l e cte d and not u s e d f or a fe w
s e conds, t h e control re v e r t s back t o be com ing a Mas t e r V ol u m e control .
F iv e l e v e l indicators a round th e control s h ow t h e pos ition of t h e control . In
t h e e xt r e m e counte rcl ock w i s e p o s i tion al l L ED's are off. As t h e control i s

I f one of th e function buttons h a s b e e n d e p re s s e d (Bas s , Tre bl e or Mode ),

Treble/Bass Selectors
Th e Bas s and Tre bl e buttons are l ocated on t h e Syst e m Control l e r. W h e n
t h e Bas s but t on is pus h e d, th e b a s s L ED wil l turn on and t h e rotary k nob wil l
ch ange t h e l e v e l of bass on al l s p e a k e r s , h av ing t h e gre ate s t e f f e ct on th e
subwoof e r. Th e L EDs around th e rotary knob wil l l igh t one at a tim e to
indicat e t h e l e v e l of bas s boost or bas s re duction. Th e ce nte r L ED indicat e s
t h e de f aul t pos i t ion. Push ing t h e bass but t on again wil l i m m e d i a t e l y e xi t th is
f unction. To re s e t t h e bas s l e v e l t o t h e de faul t pos i t ion, h ol d t h e bass but t on
down f or t h re e s e conds.

Rear Volume Level Adjustments
To adj u s t t h e v ol u m e l e v e l of t h e Rear Sate l l it e s , in e i t h e r t h e St e re o x2 or
Gam ing m ode , h ol d down t h e M o d e b u t t on f or approxim ate l y 3 s e conds. Th e
L ED to th e l e f t in t h e L ED group around th e Mast e r Vol um e control (rot ary
k nob) wil l begin f l as h ing. Th is indicat e s t h e Mast e r Vol um e control is now
program m e d to adj u s t t h e l e v e l of t h e Rear s p e a k e r s . Th e L EDs around th e
r ot ary k nob wil l l igh t one a t a t im e to indicate t h e s t r e ngt h of Rear s p e a k e r
l e v e l . Pus h ing t h e M o d e b u t t on again wil l im m e d iat e l y e xi t th is f unction. If
t h e control is not acti v e l y us e d for a s h ort w h il e , th e control r e v e r t s back to
Mast e r Vol um e control function. Th e de faul t r e a r s pe a k e r l e v e l is at t h e
ce n t e r L ED posit ion.
Th e rotary k nob re v e r t s t o Mast e r V ol um e control function wh e n a pe r iod of 3
s e conds of inactivity occurs a f t e r adjus t ing t h e bass, t r e bl e , or re ar s p e a k e r
l e v e l s .
System Reset to Factory Default Settings
I f t h e 4100 is t urne d on, pr e s s t h e Powe r button to turn i t off. To re turn to
f actory de faul t s e t t ings, pre s s bot h t h e Bas s and Tre bl e but t ons at t h e s am e
t im e a n d w h il e h ol ding t h e m down, pl ug in t h e 4100. Th i s w i l l r e s e t t h e bas s ,
t r e bl e , m ode , vol um e a n d re ar vol u m e s e ttings .
