160 Chapter 9 Working with Map Layers
Adding New Symbols for Use in Point Layers
If you have symbol files that you want to use on point layers, you can add
them so that they are available in Autodesk MapGuide Author. You use the
Symbol Manager dialog box to add symbols. You can use symbol files (SMB),
Windows metafiles (WMF), enhanced Windows metafiles (EMF), or pictures
from the Clipboard as symbols. Additionally, you can create your own
symbols in AutoCAD Map, and import them into Autodesk MapGuide
Author.

Setting Display Styles for Text Layers
You can specify the font, color, background, alignment, height, and rotation
of text layer features. To specify styles for text layers, you double-click a style
in the Styles tab of the Map Layer Properties dialog box to display the Text
Style dialog box.
