Downloading Still Images/Movies with the USB Mounter (Mac OS 9.X Only)

This utility allows you to treat the camcorder like a computer drive or read-
only card reader, displaying the contents on the computer and permitting files
to be downloaded easily.
When you open still images or playback movies, be sure to download them
from the memory card to the computer first, then open or play them back.
• The USB Mounter cannot be used with Mac OS 8.X or 10.1.
If you enable the USB Mounter, the camcorder will be treated as if it were a
drive like a card reader. Consequently, the following cannot be performed
while the USB Mounter is running.
- ImageBrowser cannot be automatically started when the USB connection is
opened.
- Still images/movies cannot be deleted from the memory card in the
camcorder. Still images/movies on the computer cannot be uploaded to the
camcorder.
Enabling the USB Mounter
To download still images/movies with the USB Mounter, enable it with the
following procedures.
1.
Select [Control Panels] from the Apple menu and [Canon USB
Camera Driver].
• The [Canon USB Camera Driver] control panel appears.
2.
Select [Card Reader Mode] and close the control panel.
• A dialog prompting you to restart the computer appears.
3.
Click [Yes] to restart the computer.
• The USB Mounter is enabled.
