Guide indications in VCR display
The following indications appear in the VCR display to tell you the current status of your VCR.

Meaning and troubleshooting
• The VCR clock has been set to "– – : – –".
Set the time and programme the timer.
• Your timer programme has a TV
programme channel number that you have
not preset in the VCR. Correct the channel.
• Twelve programmes have already been
stored.
Cancel unnecessary programme and
transfer the new programming.
• The VCR shows the timer programme
number which is transferring from remote
control.
• A cassette has not been inserted or a
cassette without safety tab has been
inserted. A cassette without safety tab will
be ejected automatically. Insert a cassette
with safety tab intact.
• A cassette has not been inserted. Insert a
cassette.
• A cassette without safety tab has been
inserted. It will be ejected automatically.
Insert a cassette with safety tab intact.
• The remote code is set to "1" in the VCR
MODE menu, but "VCR2" appears in the
remote display. Press the VCR1/2/TV
button on the remote control so that
"VCR1" appears.
• The video heads are dirty. Cleaning them
is recommended. To switch off the CL
display, clean the head, turn off the power,
and press the PROG
display automatically switches off when
recording and playback are performed for
about 5 hours after it appears.
