Closing and opening the roof
manually
This operation can be performed in
any condition, with the ignition key in
position
0
(Stop); in this condition, the
clutches are disengaged.
Proceed as follows to close the roof.
• Guide the roof until it rests on the
windscreen cross member.
• Close the locks on the windscreen cross
member by operating the handle A.
The manual opening procedure can be
used for cleaning and/or maintenance
of the roof and its parts. In these cases,
be careful since, in the absence of the
rear lock support, the roof will rest on
the luggage compartment lid and may
damage it.
• Open the locks on the windscreen
cross member by operating the handle
A.
• Position a rubber mount on the
luggage compartment lid and lower the
roof until it rests on it.

SPECIAL WARNINGS

The luggage compartment can be
accessed only when the roof is fully open
or fully closed (see on page 78).
Roof operation is stopped in the
following cases:
• When the toggle switch is released.
• When the parking brake is released.
• When the luggage compartment lid is
opened.
• When the ignition key is turned to
position 0.
• When the battery voltage is
below
10.5V.
In the above cases, the failure warning
light on the instrument panel comes on
(see on page 46) and the system reverts
to the "Initialisation" condition.
Loads and stresses, which vary depending
on the use of the vehicle, can cause slight
variations in the position of the doors
or the roof frame. This is why the roof's
sealing, against air or water infiltrations
from the windows, cannot be completely
guaranteed in all conditions of use.
Slight infiltrations in some sealing areas
are, however, normal.
The vehicle must not be washed in
automatic car washes, since the high-
pressure jets may cause infiltration of
water into some areas, which would not
be detected during normal use.
