DOWNshift due to engine
underrevving
• The system shifts down the gears
"automatically", if the engine runs
below the minimum speed rate set at
1250 RPM.
• The DOWNshift request from the lever
is ignored if gearshifting due to a too
low engine RPM is already in progress.
Engine speed rate adjustment during
upshifting in "SPORT" mode
Only when "SPORT" mode is active,
under racing-style driving conditions
(engine over 5000 RPM) the RPM
rate is adjusted automatically during
gearshifting. This feature is even more
apparent as engine speed increases.
N (Neutral) request
If necessary, N can be requested at any
speed.
If an UPshift is subsequently requested,
the system engages the gear suited to the
vehicle speed.
STOPPING THE VEHICLE

When the vehicle stops, the system

automatically engages 1 gear (unless
has already bee requested).
With the vehicle stationary and the
engine running, hold the brake pedal
down until you are ready to start off
again.

N The engine can be turned off with the
system in N or a gear engaged.
After turning the ignition key from
position II to position 0, the display
remains on for a few seconds showing the
gear engaged. If N is engaged, a buzzer is
activated.
CAUTION
Do not start the vehicle before the
display has turned off.
Never leave the vehicle with the
gearshift in N but engage a gear (1
or reverse), check that the display
does not flash and always engage the
handbrake. Never leave the vehicle
with the engine running.
Do not remove the key when the
vehicle is moving! The system and
the display will remain active, but
malfunctioning, until the vehicle stops.
In addition, the steering wheel will lock
automatically with the first rotation of
the steering wheel.
