Sediment
Cup Cleaning
The sediment cup prevents dirt or water which may be in the fuel tank from
entering the carburetor.
If the engine has not been run for a long time, the
sediment cup should be cleaned.
1. Open the left side maintenance
cover.
2. Turn the engine switch to the OFF position.
Remove the sediment cup
by turning it counterclockwise.
3. Clean the cup and O-ring in nonflammable
or high flashpoint
solvent.
4. Reinstall the O-ring and sediment cup. Tighten securely.
5. Close and latch the left side maintenance
cover.

Gasoline
is
extremely
frammable
and
is explosive
under
certain
conditions.
l
After
installing
the sediment
cup, check
for fuel leaks, and make sure
the area is dry before starting
the engine.
Fuel vapor or spilled fuel may
ignite.
