If you do not load the requested paper within the load paper timeout, the printer picks paper from the default tray.

Adjusting Printing Options Printing in Black & White Your printer driver can be set to print only with black toner by selecting black & white in the printer properties. This may occur due to a special printing need or if a color toner cartridge is empty.
Using Color Image Processing The differences between the way your printer and monitor produce color explain why your printed document can look different from what you see on your screen. To compensate for these differences, the colors are converted by your printer using image processing. Image processing is the process of translating your computer file into printer toner.

Macintosh Creating an AppSocket Printer with LaserWriter 8.6 Xerox provides Macintosh AppSocket printing with PhaserPort for Mac OS on the printer’s Printer Installer and Utilities CD-ROM. PhaserPort for Mac OS provides a bi-directional, high-speed communications channel using the new plug-in communication architecture of Apple LaserWriter version 8.6.
Macintosh Select the PostScript Printer Description file and provide configuration information. You can also select the Auto Setup button, then Macintosh automatically attempts to determine the correct settings for the Phaser printer. Note Certain utilities, such as Adobe Font Downloader, are not compatible with PhaserPort for Mac OS software because they attempt to directly communicate with the printer using the AppleTalk protocol.
Macintosh Select Add Printer, then select AppleTalk from the pull-down list. Select the appropriate zone. Select your printer from the list provided. Select the appropriate PPD from the list in the Printer Model drop-down list. If your printer’s PPD is not listed, install it from the Printer Installer and Utilities CD-ROM.
