Connect the data ribbon cable or signal cable to the back of the drive.
Warning If you are connecting a data ribbon cable, make sure that
you align the red-striped edge of the cable toward the Pin
1 end of the data cable connector. Usually, this is the end
of the connector that is nearest the power supply
connector. PIN 1 is usually labeled with a small arrow, the
number "1," or a low number (for example, "2"). Be careful
not to force the cable connector or bend any of the pins.

If you are connecting a signal cable, the signal cable is
keyed to align correctly with the signal connector on the
back of the drive.
