This document contains installation and configuration
information for HP P2000 G3 MSA Systems containing
the following controllers:
HP P2000 G3 Fibre Channel MSA Controller
HP P2000 G3 Combo FC/iSCSI MSA Controller
HP P2000 G3 SAS MSA Controller
HP P2000 G3 10GbE iSCSI MSA Controller
HP P2000 G3 iSCSI MSA Controller
Installing an HP P2000 G3 MSA System includes:
"Step 1. Install equipment in the rack" (page 1)
"Step 2. Install hardware options" (page 1)
"Step 3. Connect cables" (page 2)
"Step 4. Power on the components" (page 6)
"Step 5. Update firmware" (page 6)
"Step 6. Configure the MSA" (page 6)
Step 1. Install equipment in the rack
Use the racking instructions provided with the P2000 G3
MSA System and other hardware (including servers,
switches, and drive enclosures) to install components in
the rack.
Site requirements
For information about detailed site requirements see the
racking instructions poster and user guide.
Rack planning
For information about setting up the rack, including the
appropriate warnings and cautions, see the documentation
that came with your rack. Updated rack information can
be downloaded at: http://www.hp.com/products/racks.
Step 2. Install hardware options
For information about installing controllers, disk drives,
and other options, see the installation instructions provided
with the option or on the Software Support/Documentation
CD.
IMPORTANT:
Do not install different types of
controllers in the same enclosure chassis (for
example, a P2000 G3 Fibre Channel MSA
Controller and a P2000 G3 Combo FC/iSCSI MSA
Controller). This is not supported.
The following illustrations describe different P2000 G3
MSA controller models.
