Toner Cartridge Life
Toner cartridge life depends on the page density, the percentage of each page
that is printed black. An average business letter prints at between 3% and 5%
density; graphics density is usually higher. The higher the print density, the more
toner is used.
The first toner cartridge, which is included with your printer, will produce an
average of 2,000 sheets with 5% density.
Replacement toner cartridges (Type 8) will produce an average of 4,000 pages
with 5% black density.
Replace the toner cartridge after TONER LOW displays in the control panel
window. At this point, the printer will print about 100 more sheets, then display
TONER EMPTY and stop printing. Printing will resume when a new toner
cartridge is installed.
