HP PCI Integrated 10/100VG LAN Interface

The 32-bit PCI LAN controller provides a 10Base-T/100VG AnyLAN
interface. This interface uses either IEEE 802.3 technology for
transmitting at 10 Mbit/s, or IEEE 802.12 technology for transmitting at
100 Mbit/s.
Best performance from your PC's integrated 10/100VG LAN interface is
obtained when using the 100 Mbit/s transmission rate. This rate is over
10 times the transmission rates used by standard 10Base-T networks
and offers support for time-sensitive applications such as multimedia
presentations.
The HP PCI integrated 10/100VG LAN interface uses a protocol called
Demand Priority Access to avoid network collisions. Under this
protocol, data packets transmitted over the network are directed only
to their destination port. The data is not visible to other ports on the
network.
By using Demand Priority Access, you will be able to prioritize the data
traffic on your network and avoid collisions between different data
packets. Demand Priority Access allows you to minimize latency
(unused capacity) on your network and so maximizes network
throughput for time-sensitive applications.
Your PCI integrated 10/100VG LAN interface requires no hardware
configuration. Drivers are supplied with your PC that will enable you to
use the network adapter with any type of network for all supported
operating systems.
For further information on the HP PCI integrated 10/100VG LAN
interface, refer to the online Network Administrator's Guide supplied
with your PC.
